As a motherhood therapist, I aim to help you understand why motherhood at times can feel deeply challenging and disorienting. My goal is to validate and normalize your unique experience in hopes you are guided towards clarity, empowerment and your most authentic self. I am also here to be a fearless hope merchant, holding hope for when you feel there is none.
Whether you’re navigating postpartum depression or anxiety, grappling with new emotions, or simply struggling to articulate your experiences as a mother, you’ve come to the right place.

MODERN MOTHER
Understanding the Challenges of Modern Motherhood
Complex Emotional Shifts
Motherhood can bring up both very new and messy emotions along with painful wounding from that past, which can feel deeply unsettling and strange. Together we can learn to name what is real for so you and welcome in the paradox of emotions: the good, the bad and the ugly. So that you can call in your most critical and authentic needs as a mother and most importantly deepen your connection to yourself, your child and the important people in your life.
Lack of Support
In the context of our modern world, mothers can feel often isolated, overwhelmed, and depleted. This is for justifiable reasons. Because at the end of the day, we just don't have enough support socially and often personally. It can seem like our much needed village is nowhere in sight. Together, we will work towards re-defining what it really means to be taking care of as a mother and learn to advocate for the support that allows you to thrive- not just survive.
Motherhood is a time
of transformation
Just as new emotions are surfacing, so is extensional questioning. Meaning, this is a time when we get to ask ourselves "who am I now"? and "who do I want to be"? as we incorporate our new identity as a mother. Motherhood is a rite of passage and is meant to be a time of change. Therefore, we are faced with losing parts of ourselves at the same, gaining new ones. Together we will explore these important questions about your new role as mother and create space for expansion, growth and a mastery of new skills.
The gap between
expectations and reality
Mothers often feel their expectations of becoming a mother are vastly different than reality. We have to acknowledge this is as byproduct of our cultural norms and how we are "sold" an unrealistic ideal of motherhood. This gap of what is expected and what is realistic can result in significant disappointment and distress for many mothers. Therefore, we will work together to reflect on how our cultural has impacted your experience as a mother and know that is not a "me problem" but a "we problem".
